Mission INFINITI ONE aims to test a completely in-house developed 1U CubeSat in the harsh near-space stratospheric environment.
A high-altitude weather balloon will carry the satellite to a height of approximately 35 km, where the air pressure is mere 0.04 Atm. During the ride upwards, a temperature drop down to -50°C can be expected.
To make the first iteration of a CubeSat, proving that it can be done by our carefully chosen off-the-shelf components and that the components can be fitted within a 10x10cm cube while maintaining functionality.
To gather valuable test data on how our CubeSat reacts to a space-like environment of near vacuum, low temperature and high radiation.
To test our real-time communications and recovery capabilities during the flight day.
To study the performance of the CubeSat by analyzing flight data which will allow us to improve future CubeSat iterations.
